Workshop Report

A workshop was organized by Electrical Engineering  Department on “ Internet of Things”. Mr. Lalit Sharma, Trainer from Aptron Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Conducted the workshop. It was organized on 4th September 2017 from 2.00 am to 4.30 pm. The students of EE 2nd ,3rd  Year and department faculty members attended the workshop. 41 students were present in the lecture.

The Internet of things (IoT) is the inter-networking of physical devices, vehicles (also referred to as "connected devices" and "smart devices"), buildings, and other items embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity which enable these objects to collect and exchange data. The IoT allows objects to be sensed or controlled remotely across existing network infrastructure, creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, and resulting in improved efficiency, accuracy and economic benefit in addition to reduced human intervention.

A practical Example was given to the students using IOT. A demonstration with a small kit was given that how a light of a particular room can be switched on and off using the mobile phones.

The students were taught programming of it and the connections of the circuit.

The students were able to design new projects using this technology. They also learnt about the various projects of this technology.
